BCP Board Bios

Robert Chadwick – President: In 1972, Bob Chadwick left the banking industry to begin a new career in the behavioral healthcare field. Bob held several executive positions over the next 32 years, including 15 years as Chief Executive Officer of Tuscola Behavioral Health Systems.
After concluding his behavioral healthcare career, Bob joined his wife Cindy in her graphic design and consulting business. He is also a faculty member in the College of Business and Management at Saginaw Valley State University. Bob has been active in a variety of local, state and national boards and associations. President of the Bay City Players Board of Directors and President of the Rotary Club of Bay City. Bob holds a B.B.A. in Strategic Management and Accounting from Western Michigan University, and an M.B.A. in Financial Management from Saginaw Valley State University.

Bob and Cindy live in Bay City with their Golden Retriever BJ.

Jake Monroe – First Vice President: Jake began working with theatre as a middle school student and hasn’t stopped. He is a lifetime member of the International Thespian Society (ITS). While in College, Jake participated in musicals, and held a co-stage manager chair on Michigan Technological University’s Student Entertainment Board (SEB). Post University, Jake has been involved with the Saline Area Players of Saline MI, the Sheboygan Theatre Company of Sheboygan WI, and Bay City Players primarily as a performer in various musicals. Jake first began his involvement with Bay City Players in 2002, and continues to support life skills and teamwork values taught by involvement in the arts. Jake holds a Bachelors of Chemical Engineering and a Master of Business degree from Michigan Technological University. He is currently employed by the Dow Chemical Company. He is a parent of triplets, one of whom is on the Autism Spectrum, and sees the value that music, live performance, dance, and fine art has in the development of his children and others.

Judy Miller – Secretary: Judy has been active at Bay City Players since 1983. She completed her bachelor’s degree from CMU in theatre and math, followed by a master’s in Math there. Recently retired from Delta College after 40 years, she was a professor of mathematics followed by 15 years in administration as a division chair, dean of academic administration, and dean of students. In addition to her work at Players, Judy serves on the board of Hidden Harvest, works with United Way to refer food pantry requests, and for 13 years has served as a coordinator for the west-side Bay City Food of Faith program. Judy has served several times on the Players board and is currently secretary. While occasionally performing on stage, Judy is more often found behind the scenes and has produced nearly 20 shows.

Tracy Teich – Treasurer: Tracy is retired from Dow Chemical, where she served in a number of management roles in Information Systems before retiring with 33 years of service.  She was a board member of BCP for 3 years, filled the position of business manager for one year, and has been Treasurer of the organization for 6 years.  Tracy is also a board member for the Bay Arts Council (Treasurer) and a trustee for the Samaritas Foundation (formerly Lutheran Social Services of Michigan).  She is also the chairperson of the advisory board for Living Fire Ministries, under the auspices of the N/W Lower Michigan Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Ben Beauvais – Ben Beauvais has long been a passionate participant of the theatrical arts, yet recently become involved with the amazing resource of Bay City Players. He loves the spirit of “play” BCP fosters and the endless opportunities it has afforded him to explore the theatrical arts. He fills his rare free time with his knitting, adventures with friends and annoying his pets.

Joy Butler – Joy Butler has worked in university, regional, and community theatres for more years than she cares to admit. During her career, she has been a college teacher, designer, arts administrator, and marketing director, producing concerts, special events and even a Renaissance Festival. Currently, Joy serves on the Board of Directors for Bay City Players, co-chairs their Stages of Discovery program with Joanne Berry, and serves as Costume Committee chair. She designs/creates costumes for a number of clients. Joy holds a BA from the University of Dubuque and an MA from Western Illinois University in Theatre History/Criticism and an MFA in Costume Design from Illinois State University.

Kevin Cole – Kevin Cole is an award-winning musical director, arranger, composer, vocalist and archivist who garnered the praises of Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, E.Y. Harburg, Hugh Martin, Burton Lane, Marvin Hamlisch, Stephen Sondheim and members of the Jerome Kern and Gershwin families. He has shared the concert stage with Liza Minnelli, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, William Warfield, Sylvia McNair, Lorin Maazel, Itzhak Perlman, Brian d’Arcy James, Barbara Cook, Robert Klein, Lucie Arnaz, Maria Friedman, Idina Menzel and friend and mentor Marvin Hamlisch. Kevin has given Master Classes in musical theatre vocal performance at Interlochen Center for the Arts and North Carolina School of the Arts. He has served as Musical Director for Pasadena Playhouse, Michigan Ensemble Theatre, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Royal George Theatre (Chicago) and New York Musical Theatre Festival. Kevin is also an internationally known concert pianist whose engagements include sold-out performances at Hollywood Bow, Royal Albert Hall, Kennedy Center, Ravinia Festival, Wolf Trap, Chautauqua Institute and legendary Carnegie Hall. Kevin has been active at Bay City Players as Music Director, Assistant Director and Actor-Singer. He has been instrumental in the progress of renovations to the theatre through many benefit concerts. One of his original musicals, A SHINE ON YOUR SHOES, made its premiere at Bay City Players in 2007.

Meagan Eager – Meagan Eager is a newcomer to the board of directors. She is a lifelong resident of Bay City and started her theatre career at the Bay City Players. A graduate of Western Michigan University, she studied Musical Theatre Performance and Psychology. She currently works professionally in Human Resources while performing professionally with Second Shift Theatre as well as the surrounding community.

Sara Dimitroff– Sara lives in Bay City with her husband and 3 children, Taylor, 20, Grace, 8 and Charlie 3. She enjoys music, singing, reading, exercising and spending time with her family. She is currently a Bay City Players Board member and grant writer. Currently employed with the City of Bay City as the Economic Development Project Manager.  She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Saginaw Valley State University and an MSA in Leadership from Central Michigan University.

Deborah Lake – Deborah Lake has been active at BCP for over 30 years as an actress and last year became a board member and director. She has been an arts supporter in the tri- city area for decades and has acted and directed in all three venues in the tri-county area: Pit & Balcony in Saginaw, Bay City Players, and Midland Center for the Arts. Deborah recently retired from the USPS.

Tyra KhanTyra says she was so fortunate to find her way to BCP in 2014, when she took her niece to an audition for Christmas Carol. After listening to Leeds Bird’s magical vision for the show, Tyra was hooked and auditioned on the spot. She was very lucky to be cast. Since that time, she has volunteered in different roles as BCP as well as being cast in two other shows. Tyra loves the people she has met at Players and has felt so welcomed. She enjoys being part of a team that provides art to our community. Tyra graduated from MSU and Thomas M Cooley Law School and has worked in the civil rights field for the past 15 years.

Debbi Patterson – Debbie is a licensed realtor. At Bay City Players she has volunteer, primarily in set decoration, and is a newly elected Board Member. Deb is active in the community as a member and volunteer fund raiser for the Dow Bay Area Family Y, a Food of Faith volunteer, and Mid-Michigan Community Action Agency, Bay County Outreach committee member.

Greg Burke – Greg started volunteering at BCP in 2007 as an usher and have been involved in every season since, either on stage or behind the scenes. I have met so many great people along the way and look forward to meeting many more. For my day time job I work for Prestige Healthcare as there Regional Director of Operations. Iam happy to be joining the Board of Directors again and look forward to the great things BCP bring for all its patrons and volunteers.

Leeds B. Bird – Honorary President: Leeds is a graduate of Michigan State University with an M.A. in theatre. He has spent more than thirty years teaching, directing and performing in educational theatre, dinner theatre, community theatre and summer stock. His collaborations with nationally-known pianist Kevin Cole resulted in the revue RSVP JEROME KERN performed with the Michigan Ensemble Theatre and staged readings of A SHINE ON YOUR SHOES at the Ravinia Music Festival. A particularly enjoyable experience for Leeds was performing as Mark Twain. During a ten-year period, Leeds presented over 500 solo performances as Twain in New England and the Middle West. Leeds is an honorary president of Bay City Players and also serves on the board of Studio 23/The Arts Center and is active with a la Carte, a local arts collaboration.
