Bay City Players

Message from the Board President – 2017

Welcome to Bay City Players, Michigan’s longest continuously operating community theatre. It’s hard to believe that we are embarking on our 100th season – that’s right 100 years of continuous operation, making us Michigan’s longest continuously operating community theatre!

Our Play Reading Committee worked very hard to select wonderful offerings for Season 100. We start out with Nice Work If You Can Get It, followed by A Christmas Story, Calendar Girls, On Golden Pond and a big finish with Annie.

Our Season 100 Celebration Committee has been working very hard in planning a year-long celebration to be remembered. Thanks to all of you – volunteers, donors, members, and supporters – we have accumulated a seemingly endless number of stories and memories from the past 100 years, and we will be reliving many of them during our celebration year.

Under the leadership of your Board of Directors we are working diligently on preparing a vision for our next 100 years. As part of that plan, we are launching a capital fundraising campaign to expand our parking options – including more handicap parking. This project will include razing the building next to our current building and the former ice cream parlor on the corner. Come Spring we plan to turn this area into parking for our patrons.

As President of your Board of Directors, I thank each and every one of you for your past, present and future support of Bay City Players. Without you and the entire community, there would be no Bay City Players. We are a proud part of our community and pledge to direct our efforts towards providing you with top-notch theatre. Remembering that we are community theatre, we would love to see you on stage, back stage, or in any other part you’d like to play in this organization. We are always looking for new friends to be a part of your Bay City Players.

Your thoughts and suggestions are important to our success. What do you like? What don’t you like? What would you like to see? Please share your thoughts by sending me a message at Or call our office at 989-893-5555.
Remember that great theatre really does live here!
